The citizens are being cut out of political process

Bio:

I guess it is time to let the cat out of the bag as they say. I am a fifty something partially disabled Ex-Department of Defense worker. Ex contruction, ex computer network installation tech currently in financial services arena, (and it is an arena). Spent most of my life swinging by my tail, I was a "high man" in construction lingo (means I always worked 100 feet or higher). I am also an artist,sculptor and writer. You wouldn't know that by some of my comments. I was never one to hang back when there was something needed doing. I have calmed down in my "old" age.

Why I joined Unity08:

The citizens are being cut out of political process. The politicians seem to treat the citizens like silly infants that don't have the brains God gave geese. They have little by little taken away our rights and are slowly forming a socialist government in the guise of a Democracy. Proof is in all the entitlement programs foisted on the public as reforms. A third party is a good but misguided approach in our current system. Our choices for leaders are picked for us, by the ruling class, and our desires (the citizens) are considered as an afterthought. The politicians are the employees and "We the People" are the employers. I believe we should have the say in our leadership and it seems a draft is the best approach.
