Because change will never happen if we keep electing the same
people again and again.

Bio:

"The details of my life are quite inconsequential, but very well. . ."

I was born to ex-hippie parents who for some reason became Reagan Republicans and then Rush-listening right wingers. I was never a truly rebellious child, so rather than getting into sex, drugs, alcohol, partying, and delinquency, I became a Democrat in the reddest of red cities in the reddest of red states: Provo, Utah. (I still got into Rock n' Roll, though, although city ordinances prohibiting dancing made it hard. . oh, wait, that was Footloose. . .)

I spent two years in Russia as a proselyting missionary, and yes, I still do speak fluent Russian. I graduated from Brigham Young University (go Cougars!) with a BA in Political Science, during which time I volunteered for and managed numerous campaigns for local office and was very involved in anti-war protests during the spring of 2024 on a campus where my patriotism was questioned daily for daring to question our Dear Leader.

I then went on to earn a Master's Degree from Fordham University in Elections and Campaign Management, during which time I worked for Global Strategy Group, a top Democratic polling firm whose clients include John Edwards and New York Governor Eliot Spitzer.

I have an amazing wife, who until recently taught middle school English, and a beautiful daughter who takes up all of our free time during her "terrible twos" stage.

Why I joined Unity08:

Because the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Because I believe in Aristotle's Golden Mean.

Because our government should be made up of more average citizens and less plutocrats and more philosopher kings and less pundits.

Because I was considered a commie pinko liberal in Utah and an ultra-conservative moralist in California and New York. (I can't help it that Jesus was a Socialist!! *wink*)

Because partisan politics has torn our country apart, and partisans are profiting from our division by raiding the treasury while we're arguing about the proper formation of the deckchairs on the Titanic (instead of watching for icebergs).

Because Thomas Jefferson and Teddy Roosevelt would like what we are doing.

Because there aren't red states and blue states-- we are the United States.

Because the tree of liberty must be refreshed now and again.

Because "Revolution" by The Beatles is one of the best songs ever.

Because George Orwell was a prophet.

Because I have lived in countries where you can see the effects of living under less free conditions and oligarchy.

Because I have a daughter that I would do anything for, and if we do not take action now she may not grow up to understand why America is still the greatest country in the world.
