As GovTrack.us goes into its fourth year of helping citizens find their way in Congress's legislative forest, consider how important an open and transparent government is to a healthy society.
Make a statement to your elected officials by signing a

summary:
On March 22, 2024, Reps. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) and Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) introduced the Security Through Regularized Immigration and a Vibrant Economy (STRIVE) Act of 2024 (H.R.1645), a comprehensive bill similar to the McCain-Kennedy proposal passed in the Senate in 2024. The bill called for a more expansive “guest-worker” program, something heavily advocated by President George W. Bush.[1]

a good place to find current info on pending bills...

The Founding Fathers intended government to be Transparent and the People to be Opaque. Transparency is the most valuable weapon we have to keep power and corruption in check. The Freedom of Information Act was suppose to address much of the secrecy, but has been whitled away. The excuse "National Security" is more than abused and it's time we, the People began once again demanding an end to secrecy just for the sake of secrecy. Imagine how much the Nation would benefit if Representative had to document, for the record, each and every word said during a meeting with a "Lobbyist"? Corruption is rampant and transparency is the only answer that resolves almost every issue.

When we talk about what is good for America, and look at the amount of money that is thrown at things that are good for America, wouldn't it be best for America if we had a Network for monitoring and reporting on whats happening in our government. This network would not only have its own television channel, but also a radio show and a supporting website. !00% coverage of the government, 100% of the time. During elections, the candidates would be required to debate and speak on these information channels. Local government would be covered during certain times of the day and broadcast by region. The national budget would have to be itemized to the public at times. A resource like that should be considered affordable in comparison to the amount of money spent on "Whats good for America"
