illegal immigration (non-enforcement ) confirms that, you too, can pick & choose which laws to obey.

(i won't believe government until bush, cheney, their administration & the current congress are outta office....)

I'm thinking.......
uncontrolled "illegal" immigration supports that mantra of "trickle-down" economics.

controlled immigration & the idea of "usa citizenship" supports "trickle-up" economics.

yes, i could see why politicians, churchs, social-capital organizations (ie..La Raza), land-owners & business
welcome illegal immigration...ugh.

this issue reinforces that, you too, can pick & choose which laws to obey / respect
& which "trickle-down" economics accrue to illegals, after you get yours 1st.....
---------------------------------
if certain politicians (& candidates) can ignore &/or not follow our laws....without penalty
then why not me...........
if illegals can get away with it...........i'm thinking so can i.....

i'm thinking, the law(s) of our country don't mean much anymore...

but that is mostly because laws are often so poorly written. But it's the sore on the other guys nose we want to talk about. Illegal immigration as a single act by a single person is about as significant as running a stop sign in the desert. Yet we see so little of this rightwing blood lust over traffic offenses. Frankly we can and should correct the situation without this thinly veiled bigotry.

yes

yes, someone i don't know killing someone else i don't know...

When was the last time someone running a stop sign in the desert cost the taxpayers of this country, and especially those in the border states, several thousand dollars in public assistance? I have seen less bigotry from those wishing to secure borders, than I have from mobs of illegal immigrants flying the mexican flag in California. I have no objection to immigrant workers, I have worked with quite a few, and most are sincere, hardworking people. Many are not, and have come to this country solely for the purpose of stealing public assistance, if not your car. What possible problem could a U.S citizen have with securing our borders? Don't tell me it can't be done. The East Germans did it for about 40 years. We actually have employment adds in the local Missouri newspaper in Spanish, and other jobs listed requiring Spanish speaking people. Get them here legal, teach them English(it is the language of the world), make citizens of them, and get the criminals out. If we secure the borders, we CAN round up the illegal immigrants. It may take 20 years, but we can do it, IF the border is secure. This nonsense about breaking up families is rediculous. If a mother is deported, just what is the reason she can't take her child with her?

Illegal immigrants is not synonimous with the border gangs and their 'aggreivated' criminal act. Equating them is blantant bigotry. These two problem will be dealt with differently because they are extremely different. Solid border security will make an immediate impact on the criminal gangs and a principle reason why that is the issue to resolve asap. Imposing this bigotry on the working illegal immigrants will just delay effective border security because it is an unresolveable wedge issue that will just help propel the gridlock in our political processes.

This issue reinforces the government too, can pick & choose which laws to obey / respect. Republican and Democratic politicians act in a manor similar to the Sopranos. If they won't share the government the Rico Act should be used against the RNC and DNC.

if illegals don't need to follow the law...i'm guessing i as a citizen shouldn't either...
i'm kinda thinking about taxes & not paying them.... cool...........

I have not heard one word by the stenographers reporting the news about one issue here in New Orleans.
Estimates are that over 100,000 latinos, mostly mexicans, flooded into our area after the storm, and half of those are illegal.
The unreported issues is this. Most of New Orleans was destroyed and it has left a vast shortage in housing. The poor forced to evacuate are struggling to return home but cannot because both living space and jobs are occupied by those latinos.
For those who are going to say they are here to help, let me tell you that the work I got for an inflated charge by a local contractor hiring illegals was called by a couple of adjustors "the worst roofing job" they had ever seen.
I asked an immigration officer i met why we were being overrun, and he told me that they only had two (2) of them working the area.
Bush contributed to the problem by suspending the fair wage law. Local pols contributed by not establishing some kind of clearing house for contractors and homeowners.
But the biggest problem is the displacement of the poor who cannot return home.

1)WHO ~ keep funding the iraq war.
2)WHO ~ "will not" enforce immigration laws....
