Greetings, my fellow delegates. Well, I took the plunge this evening. After much internal debate I decided to start up a wiki site for Unity: The site is at:
I did this for a few reasons:
First, after seeing all the debate in the forums, and seeing how hard it is to convert our civic debates into anything structured I realize it's more productive to have a landing pad than to just repost into new threads, which just turn into a mess anyway.
Second, Andy had made his farm metaphor in which we are all off doing different things. Sounds like they have enough to do right now and he seemed to encourage ancillary blogs and sites and such.
Third, Steve Beller's attempt to actually divine some structure out of the noisy forum seems like a wasted effort if there's nowhere to put it.
Fourth, I think a lot of us, as in we the delegates, will feel more involved if we have something tangible growing that isn't just a bunch of chat exchanges.
I sketched out a few basic things on the site, including a basic tutorial for those not familiar with wikis. Feel free to register and start putting things together. I locked off a few main pages so that things don't get disconnected. Outside of those few locked pages, everything else is wide open. We'll probably have to clean and re-organize, but it's somewhere to start. I don't intend to be too involved with the agenda part, but rather want to sketch out lists of potential candidates, ballot access stuff, theory, centrist org summaries, etc. Everyone is encouraged to add in what expertise they have.
To the Unity leadership: the front page of the site explains the reasons I/we are doing this. Please feel free to communicate anything you deem important. I don't want to step on toes, just want to provide something for us to organize our ideas.
My eyes are sore and my fingers are tired, so that's it for tonight. I look forward to feedback and participation. Hope I've done some good here. I'll try to be as responsive as I can with the site, but I do have a regular day job, a significant other, and a life outside of politics ;) I'll do my best.

This is great. I hope nobody minds in a few weeks/month when we launch the official agenda/platform wiki that we move everything wholesale over there. In the meantime, keep up the great work.

Andy, what do you mean by everything wholesale? Surely not the chats. I take it to mean the content of the wiki that GP started?

Look, I'll admit I don't know wiki from wachee - IF WIKI IS THE FORMAT THAT WORKS BEST - Why can't we have AN OFFICIAL WIKI NOW ???
I'm from a time and place when IF YOU FORMED AN ORGANIZATION TO DO AN IMPORTANT PROJECT - everything was done under the organization's Identity and Umbrella - and the organization set the ground rules and standards for each aspect of the project ..
With the info Steve's already developed - we can put something together that will enable the Founding Council to opt for an Official WIKI to be established before the end of the month ..
The less "splinter" operations we have - the better we can control things, it will still be The delegates generating the input ..

All this said, I will learn to WIKI and contribute what I can ..
I do wish to leave you with this explanation : I am a legal immigrant as some of you know, I had the opportunity to live the American Dream - my passion in this undertaking was born of the contempt I feel for those Politicians that have made America their individual and group Cash Cow !!
