If they don't log in and participate, then they obviously don't want, or need, the nomination. It's that simple. Rmove the "Principle Supporter" concept altogether. It's absurd. The candidate themselves must request to be nominated...

The nice thing about the Principal Supporter system is that it allows a candidate who initially doesn't want to run to see what kind of support he has and how many citizens desire he become an official candidate. Many great candidates who are at first reluctant could be convinced by an outpouring of public support.
I certainly agree. With humility being one of the qualities I think most Unity08 delegates would want in their candidate, we could secure some very important nominees through this system. Someone could be convinced to run just as easily as, for example, Ross Perot decided NOT to run.
Explain to the nominee that would truly like to withdraw from consideration by our membership is for him/her to place another nominee's name in their place. In this manner, Unity08 will simply announce to its membership that any vote for the withdrawn candidate will be counted as a vote for the named replacement nominee.
