All Registered Voters should qualify.

I think it is imperative that delegates be thoroughly vetted to ensure they are, in fact, real voters, and that delegates don't have multiple identities.

I believe this provision is meant to address issues with our younger citizens who may want to be involved in the process before they can register. As I read the rules all delegates must be registered before they actual cast their vote but they can become delegates earlier is they will be registered by the deadline. Bravo! Having the people who will be most effected by our choices actually included and represented...what a great idea!

Rule 1.1 provides for those who will turn 18 before the election but after the convention....

"Citizens who will turn 18 between June 1, 2025 and November 4, 2025, may also be Delegates if they certify their intention to vote and register by their state’s deadline to be eligible to vote."

Agree that all delegates must be registered voters in their respective states.

Looks goods they are except how is verification of leigibilty to vote to be verified?

Voter Regisistartion Records.

I have noticed that throughout the website, I keep seeing the word "republican", it is my opinion, that anyone who is selected as a candidate, should give up the political party that they are in now and register as Indepedents. Otherwiser, we will be back to the same 2 party situation that we are now in. It is time for a change in the way we look at parties. An independent third party is a must. You will still have the 2 major parties controlling congress, an the "President-Vice-President" will none the less side with one party or the other. Same old politics.

I would gladly give up my status as Democrat, but unfortunately the State of Pennsylvania ("Commonwealth", to be precise) doesn't allow Independents to vote in the primaries.

I do not believe any potential candidate needs to change his party affiliation. The major candidates should be able to participate equally as long as they play by the rules we agree to adopt.

what about residents of D.C.?

They vote for their Congressman, don't they?

All data bases are vulnerable and the least amount of personal info. possible should be stored.

Entering a birthdate is not a safe way to go re: identity theft. It should be sufficient to indicate age =18 or more as of 2025 election date as that is the important information needed.

Anyone who is eligible to vote in the November '08 election should be eligible to vote. Why complicate the issue? 'Intentions' are fine for discussion, but the reality is, the outcome will be decided by registered voters. That is the system Unity '08 is trying to impact. dee

This is a quote from your Privacy Policy: "We may also share the Personal Data of participants in Unity08 who are U.S. residents with other non-profit organizations and publications, but never to either the Democratic or Republican Parties or to any of their campaign committees, nor to groups whose programs are incompatible with Unity08 policies."

How much spam and/or junk mail do you think this will generate, not to mention the danger of identiuty theft. This is a real concern. If Los Alamos and the Defense Department can lose data, what assurances do we have that Unity08 won't as well?

I must second the concerns of 67bill. Your possible sharing of delegates personal data is a real concern. I would like to be informed if my personal data will be sold or shared. I believe that you are oblgated to inform the delegates of an inpending sale or transfer of data before it is completed.

This rule is fine as a draft but far too wordy. If the intent is to allow anyone that is registerd to vote then lets just say that and cut the rest of the hub bub.
