I agree. My wife is a public school teacher in a poor area, and I am disgusted by the way the needs of our children are based on all encompassing testing. The way NCLB works as soon as the children get their heads above water funding is cut and the cycle repeats itself.
We've seen how inept the government is at taking care of its own issues. The last place we need them is in our education system.
