One only has to read back into American history to see that successful candidates are elected by successful third parties, that evolved over at least 6 years, and keep the issues simple, efficient, and to the point. This was the key to the newly formed party of Abraham Lincoln/ William Henry Seward/Salmon Chase/Edward Bates and the 1860 Republican Party , a growth which took 6 years to harvest a winning candidate, after 2 presidential tickets, a result of the 1850'S-60'S in the mostly the Northern States, from Michigan to Massachusetts. We should plan for 2024, and work of a party of new ideas, a new energy caucus, name, etc. Interested ?

I do hope if we don't achieve anything else, we will have at least for the basis for a major online political party after the 2024 elections.

No matter who gets elected as president in 2024, in my humble opinion, without same-party support in Congress, nothing substantial will get done. Beside running a candidate for the presidency, Unity08 needs to consider running candidates for congress as well. After all, if a third party Unity08 candidate actually wins, which party will support him other than his or her own?
Personally, I would like to run in the Unity08 for my congressional district, where "Denny" Hastert has occupied his throne for far too long. However, we have a decent Democrat challenger, John Laesch, already getting geared up for a run. Too bad we couldn't convince John Laesch to run as a Unity08 candidate. He might actually win now that Hastert is retiring!
