Sustainable National Energy Policy

You cannot build a stable house on a bad foundation.

1. We need stronger Café Limits for vehicles using both petroleum and agricultural based fuels. If Detroit had improved the fuel economy of its vehicles by using the technology available in the 1960s they would not have lost market share to Japanese Automakers. If the old Bean Counters, who run Detroit, will not listen to American Engineers then Detroit needs new Management.

2. We need a Long Range Plan to develop Sustainable Domestic Alternative Transportation Fuels including

A. ethanol and bio-diesel as additives to improve the environment in E10 and up to 5% diesel bio-diesel blends.
B. development of cellulose technology to feed micro-organisms used to produce bio-fuels and used in bio-refining.
C. development of bio-butanol because of its higher energy content compared to ethanol’s, compatibility with current liquid fuel infrastructure, capability of replacing gasoline gallon for gallon without an MPG penalty in current spark ignition engines, capability of being blended greater than 10% with diesel fuels as an oxygenate for better combustion.
D. development of the Biomass to Liquid Fischer-tropsch diesel fuel from non-cellulose agricultural waste products.
E. development of Direct Alcohol Fuel Cell Technology and other technologies capable of more efficiently using energy for transportation.
F. development of Plug-in technology to allow the use of off peak electrical power generated by environmentally friendly technology.

Public Servants need to learn how to do the right things, the right way, for the right reasons. US OPEC Oil dependence finances the Terrorist Jihad against the Western World and weakens the US Economy by helping to create our huge balance of trade deficit.

It's simple: take a stand (like the 1960's moon-shot commitment) and make Hydrogen the fuel of the future. And, the future is NOW.
