Candidates not wishing to be drafted or serve can signify so by sending a certified letter to Unity08. I tend to think periods of 'persuasion' may be used by some clever pols who fully intend to run to generate a little false momentum.
You're in, or you're out. No half-way in the doors, please.

I think candidates wishing to be Drafted should be required to send a certified letter, not the other way around. If no certified letter is received by the pre-determined deadline, the candidate cannot/will not be drafted. They must positively confirm themselves to participate. This is more logical and fairer than requiring someone who has no interest or inclination to run to have to spend the money to send a certified letter.
This would really show the candidate's commitment to this idea. It would show that they believe in what is trying to be done here.
I think the sheer amount of news coverage that the potential candidate will get could be enough to sway him to come aboard.
This is a simple problem unlike the politicans of either party wanting to be coaxed to run, In unity08 a person is nominated to run for office and he/she refuses end of discussion...LOOK FOR SOMEONE ELSE WILLING TO RUN. Aren't we tired of the old same o same o? With 10,000+ members and growing surely there is someone that will accept.
Certified written correspondence stating their reluctance to run for office or accept a draft would be sufficient evidence that the interest isn't there. It's critical to select someone who is up to the challenge.
