I found the text of Romney's speech

And found this passage:

"Freedom requires religion just as religion requires freedom. Freedom opens the windows of the soul so that man can discover his most profound beliefs and commune with God. Freedom and religion endure together, or perish alone."

WHAT? What connection is there between freedom and religion? Atheists or agnostics can't be free? What insane babble. Religion requires freedom? What about Saudi Arabia? Freedom requires religion? European governments are secular, Europeans aren't free? What about Japan in WWII where the emperor was a god? Were the Japanese free then? What a stupid thing to say. What was that all about? An appeal to the "religious right"?

He also said:
"I will take care to separate the affairs of government from any religion, but I will not separate us from 'the God who gave us liberty.'"
God gave us liberty? Why didn't he give it to the Iraqis so we wouldn't have had to sacrifice so many American lives? A person has to have a religion to believe in a higher being?

Well, I would never vote for him anyway, not because of his religious beliefs, but because he's had every side of every issue. (Like Giuliani - but unlike Hillary, who seems to have no positions)
