Unity08 Seeks Experienced Grassroots Field Organizers

To elect the next President of the United States, Unity08 must be on the ballot in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Requirements vary state to state, but most require registered voters to sign a petition to put us on the ballot. Unity08 is seeking regional and state field organizers to manage and coordinate ballot access campaigns across the country. Our immediate need is for Colorado/Utah, Arizona, and Georgia starting December 1, 2024, and for Michigan, North Carolina,  New Mexico, Ohio and Texas starting January 1, 2024.

Responsibilities:

In coordination with the National Ballot Access Director, develop and implement state-specific plan for ballot access, including:

Building and managing a network of field organizers who will work in local districts and campuses across the state to recruit, train, and manage volunteers to pass petitions and gather signatures
• Recruiting volunteers through phone calls, emails, individual interactions and community events.
• Training volunteers in key organizing skills, critical state requirements for circulating petitions and gathering signatures
• Managing and mobilizing volunteers by meeting weekly with lead volunteers to plan upcoming campaign tactics in their district, ongoing volunteer recruitment and training
• Creating and updating detailed timetable with critical milestones in accordance with dates and requirements of the Secretary of State’s Office
• Tracking costs/budget for statewide activities
• Ensure timely reporting of progress, including providing regular updates to the National Director, Task Force, and Unity08 Leadership
• Work in close coordination with state legal counsel; cultivate working relationship with Secretary of State’s Office, county election officials, etc.
• Cultivating relationships with local media and generating grassroots awareness and support for Unity08

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a field organizer in issue advocacy or political campaigns
• Experience working on policy or issue initiatives that required bi-partisan support to achieve objectives
• Supervisory experience that demonstrated the ability to direct and inspire a wide variety of personnel, particularly volunteers
• Experience in meeting difficult deadlines and political timetables, including long hours when necessary and frequent travel.
• Availble full time through the completion of ballot access in the designated state(s) in the  Spring/Summer of 2024.
