How much land does the Dept. of Agriculture pay farmers not to plant crops on? I remember years ago that the farmers were paid not to grow certain crops.

Is this is still a practice, if so why couldn’t all lands that are being held back from planting specific crops, be dedicated to growing fuel crops? Then we would not be affecting feed crops for livestock.
