The re-regulation of Industries and services as a means of reducing American poverty.

  • I noticed that one of the issues on the list of primary concerns, was that of reducing poverty in America. One of the best ways, I can think of, to promote the reduction of poverty in America is to re-establish the regulatory protections which we have allowed to be taken away. Since the providers of products and services, now deregulated, have been allowed to operate on their own, greed, price gouging, and obscene administrative and corporate profits have gotten totally out of control. Even our own Congress has become victim of this same affliction. Congress worked 93 or 97 days in a session,(most people work in the neighborhood of 250 days per year) considering two relatively minor pieces of legislation (as far as National concerns go) and feel that this allows them to, once again, vote themselves another raise.

When was the last that you got fired from a job and received a $161 million dollar severance package on your departure?? Whenever I've been fired, I was shown the door and that was all.

I don't care who the individual is or what his/her education level is, no one is worth the kind of money that is being charged and being made by the cronies of the present administration of this country. Profits of the large corporations and industry are at all time record levels, while the general public, as usual, foots the bill. In the overall scheme of things, relatively few, corporations (including utilities) and their chief administrative officers currently make obscene amounts of money at the expense of the general population and no one seems to care. We need to start paying attention to what's going on around us and start taking action to affect the proper changes. Example: You draw a cartoon about a muslim religious leader and the entire muslim community falls out in the street to protest for days. The American people are being financially raped everyday and no says a word. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE???

Every American citizen that intends to go to the polls during the next Presidential election needs to get a copy of Lee Iococa's latest book "Where Have All The Leaders Gone?" and read it. We're going to loose our country if we don't wake up. It has even been suggested that the Constitution of this country be done away with. I don't know about you, but as a veteran, that is NOT what I fought for.
