Music: and the effect on politics

  • I'm a 23 year old college graduate who has seen the way music changed former generations during the civil rights movement and the vietnam era. growing up, I thought something like that would change my generation.

I am disapointed in my own generation for seemingly dropping the ball. Very few bands these days seems interested in speaking out or speaking up. So many individuals seem much more concerned about selling records and making sure no one downloads it for free than actual content.

maybe i'm just a romantic but I think it's high time for some artists to really come out on the forefront of this political discussion with some bitchin tunes.

I thought punk music could do it, but it is obviously not accessable to the masses both in record shops and just the fact the alot of people find it too heavy. But even "punk" (or what is being passed off as punk) these days is the same old watered down garbage that most of the other bands are doing

thanks for letting me vent UNITY!
