Why I joined Unity08:

I had been a life long Democrat, but left the party because of the hatred and anger directed at George Bush. Now, I think that Bush is the worst president of my lifetime, perhaps the worst in the history of the Republic, but the hatred is self defeating. The Clinton haters of the Republican Party, accomplish the same. We are so isolated from each other that we base our opinions on who says what not what he says. I believe that if we were willing to talk to each other, a majority of Americans could make advances on every issue that challenges us today. I am hopeful that Unity 08 will provide a forum for that to happen.
