Fixing Our Poverty vs. Fixing Poverty in Other Countries

I think this might be a good topic on here.
There is a saying I've heard that goes something like, "You need to fix yourself before you can fix others." I think that we should worry more about poverty in our country, and less about the ones in other countries. I know that may sound a bit heartless, but I think if we get more people out of poverty here, then we will have more of a chance to get people that we can have helping the poor in other countries. What is your view on this?

No “Health Care Reform” without “Balancing the Federal Budget”

We have “Health Care Reform” ranked as the #2 issue on unity08's “Top Issues”.

Although this is an important issue, we need to address “Balancing the Federal Budget” and “Solvency of Social Security” before funding this extremely high cost program without rising taxes.

I would suggest that, if you have “Health Care Reform” in your “Top Five Issues”, you should consider including “Balancing the Federal Budget” as one of your “Top Five Issues” also.
