Most forums usually have a list of statistics associated with the site somewhere, something that indicates the number of total registerd users, users logged on, guests, how many posts have been made, etc.

Perhaps a good addition would be something like this, both for the shoutbox and the Unity08 site overall? It might be motivating to see how many people are signed up and involved by listing that, or, maybe in addition, plotting the users by county or state or region on a map
