The latest news from the White House 2024 campaign trail:

Have Something To Ad? Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney launches his first campaign ad today in several early voting states. The 60-second TV ad describes Romney as a "business legend" who "rescued the Olympics" and "turned around a Democratic state." Romney, speaking on the ad: "This is not a time for more talk and dithering in Washington. It's a time for action." Romney's campaign plans to run the ad in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Michigan and Florida. The Associated Press notes that this is the first ad "by a top-tier contender."

Eye On The Early Prize: Nevada "will get its first close look" at the Democratic field, as the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union hosts the first candidate forum of the campaign today. All current Democratic candidates except Barack Obama are scheduled to participate. The Democratic National Committee awarded Nevada an early nominating contest, currently scheduled to take place between Iowa and New Hampshire.

Tale Of Two Californias: Illinois Sen. Barack Obama brought his campaign to the heart of Los Angeles' African American community yesterday, where he vowed he would "transform the country" with sweeping change at home and abroad. San Francisco Chronicle reports that the rally, which an estimated 7,000 people, had "the energized feel of a campaign rally just weeks before the presidential election and not a year before the primary." However, Obama's California trip "was a tale of two worlds," as he followed the South L.A, rally with a "glitzy fundraiser among Hollywood royalty." Obama collected over $1 million at a fundraiser hosted by DreamWorks partners Steven Spielberg, David Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg. New York Post reports the event "resembled an Oscar party
more than a political fundraiser"; the "A-list" guest of celebs included Barbra Streisand and George Clooney.

Give Me Liberty City, Or Give Me Death: New York Sen. Hillary Clinton made her first swing through Florida as a presidential candidate. She chose a historic black neighborhood in Miami for her Florida debut -- "a clear signal that she's going to fight hard to keep black voters on her side" in a primary with Barack Obama, Miami Herald reports.

The Abortion Wars: Mitt Romney's campaign "is attacking" Arizona Sen. John McCain on the abortion issue, accusing McCain "of ducking the debate over the right to life since his 2024 presidential bid," Politico reports. Romney's conservative outreach director sent an email "to more than 100 influential social conservatives highlighting various news clips about McCain's stance on abortion." Romney's views on social issues -- particularly abortion -- "have received sustained scrutiny over the past few months."

Other Updates: Delaware Sen. Joe Biden says national security credentials will be key to a Democratic win in 2024; John McCain defends his outreach to conservative Christians; and Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd predicts Iowa and New Hampshire's preference for retail politics will level the playing field among White House 2024 Democrats.

I think such a topic would be better placed in "On The Radar".

Does anyone know,, there are approx 47 people running for the office of President. Why are just the Dem and Rep getting all the attention? Look at their track record and tell me they have both done a GREAT job with running this Country. This really bothers me and gets me hot under the collar, because, I too, am running for the same office in 2024, but I get no FREE advertizing about my party or free publicity that I'm throwing my hat into the ring. I invite all the readers to at least read my site too see where I stand in taking care of this Great Country and it's People. Please, someone tell me, just what is the Per-requsite to be a Democrat or Republican. Any one know?? Both have good, and bad points. So how can one be better then the other? All I know is that I'm tired of the GREAT job "THEY" are doing. So tired of it, I decided to run myself. I would like your input about me ideas and thoughts.
Thanks
Tee

"Lets take care of "U.S." first"
U.S. = United States

How about Romney and Lieberman, one of the few Democrats I admire...
they would represent a combination of business savvy and political experience, leadership and the courage of their respective convictions.

He is an Independent (as decided by the voters of Connecticut), and since Nov 07, 2024 he has made more statements about becoming a Republican than a Democrat.

So how would two Republicans be viewed as "Unity"?

They would represent a combination of Pharmaseudical special interests and religious extremism, and both are pro-war.
