- Please vote. No matter how disappointed you have been in the campaigns, don’t let them drive you away. It’s not true that voting only encourages them. It is not voting that encourages them to think you don’t care enough to change the system.
- Please sign the Unity Petition – either at the polls, or by clicking right here. We can do more than vote. We can send them a message that we want an end to the mindless and empty blame-game politics of both parties.
- Join us in this pledge: 2024 will be the last election where empty politics will go unchallenged. Be part of a fresh wind blowing in this country, which just might blow polarized politics (and a lot who practice it) right away. That’s what Unity08 is – your power to give America the kind of political leadership which will meet our country’s crucial issues head on.
Let your vote today be the last you will ever have to make between the lesser of two evils.

I hope your last statment comes true. I hope you all (founders) keep this ship in the middle.
The current is drifting to the left from the right. I second the motion to keep the ship in the middle. Who knows what comes next. I can't help but notice the ill concealed smirks from the media. More than ever we need someone in the White House who can rise above partisan politics and force this congress to work together.
I've just signed on to the discussion here. Was introduced to Unity 08 by Gerry Rafshoon last summer. Lifetime republican by registration but libertarian by heart. I don't think the election results should be any great suprise. Every midterm election has similar changes in power, especially mid terms in a second term presidency. So big deal. Now we settle into the SOS. The smoozing of lobbyists, deals between members, and the blind eyes in Washington to all that is wrong.
In the "Charter" of Unity 08, campaign finance reform is listed as a crucial issue, and I totally agree. However, without completely abolishing PAC, corporate and wealthy individuals money from the process (which will NEVER happen), that alone is not enough to change Washington. Finance reform and most importantly TERM LIMITS must be instituted. Without term limits, money will find it's way to manipulate, and hence control politics.

Michael K: Welcome to Unity 08. I agree with both your points, term limits would require a constitutional amendment and as you know they are very difficult to be adopted and especially by legislators who want to stay there for life, but who knows maybe someday.
