I think that we should ask politicians to make a serious series of pledges before we vote for them. I will post a couple and you can add on as needed. Then maybe we can have someone from this site to present it to every poltician running for poltical office. The first pledge should be:

    1. I will not ask for or vote for a congressional pay raise until the federal deficit is fixed and our budget is balanced.
    2. I will not stay in office longer than 2 terms.

Please add a few more and let's make a document for the politicians to sign. If they are not willing to sign it they are not willing to take our votes. It's time for politicians to show some real leadershp and stop playing games with our future. We also need to abolish the Electoral College as it is out dated and do not serve the interest of the majority vote. How can we push other countries to work for a democracy when we can not elect our own president through a popular vote. America wake up. And of course we need a third party to give use another choice Democrats and Republicans are playing too many games. Wake up!

Bith are conservatives who were elected as strict "term limits" individuals...

Coburn kept his word and went back to Oklahoma.. although he was recently elected as a U S Senator from Oklahoma...

Lucas is now in his 13 th year and gives no sign of leaving... Is he effective? Dont know!

Neither is in trouble for the COLA's.. and term limits for congress does not make sense...

Oklahoma has term limits for state senators and state reps.. just means that they run for another office when they are term limited one place... ours is 12 years.... It has speeded up control of the house and senate from Democrat to Republican..

Keep the electoral college.. a small group can still influence the election

They call it a cost of living adjustment and not a raise. They knew what the job paid when they ran for it so they should live with it.
I don't agree with your two term limit (or any term limit aside from elections.)
    I like the Electoral College.
